About SOSA

Southern Oregon Society Of Artists began on November 17, 1951 at the home-studio of artist Clifford Platz who became our first president. Overnight SOSA grew to eleven members pledging themselves to the celebration and promotion of art in the Rogue Valley.

From the beginning, the focus has been on original two-dimensional art of traditional medium.  SOSA welcomes artists of all mediums, and invites them to join our membership.

Southern Oregon Society Of Artists, Incorporated is a non-profit corporation with members from across Southern Oregon.  We are dedicated to increasing the public’s appreciation of the arts, encouraging our members to improve skills, prepare for gallery shows and enter competitions. Annually, SOSA sponsors ten monthly professional art demonstrations, critiques and lectures at the Medford Central Library. While certain privileges are afforded to current members only, the public is cordially invited to attend meetings.
